Visa Information for Indian Nationals Traveling to Malaysia

Visa Exemption (30 Days)

  • No Tourist Visa Required: Indian nationals can visit Malaysia without a visa for up to 30 days, effective from December 1, 2023.
  • Conditions:
    • Return/Onward Ticket: Must be within 30 days of arrival.
    • Sufficient Funds: At least 50 USD per day in cash or through other means (debit/credit card, traveler’s checks).
    • Hotel Booking: Must have a confirmed hotel booking with complete payment.
    • Final Profiling: Passengers will be profiled by Malaysian Immigration upon arrival. If any conditions are not met, entry may be refused.

Required Documentation for Entry

  • eVisa: Not required until December 31, 2023.
  • Confirmed Return Flight Reservation: Required for entry.
  • Boarding Pass: Needed when arriving.
  • Sufficient Funds: Either cash, debit/credit card, or traveler’s checks.
  • Travel Itinerary: Must be available upon request.
  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.

Visa Types

  1. Single Entry Visa: For leisure travel. Valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
  2. Multiple Entry Visa: For business or government-related purposes. Valid for 3 to 12 months. Each stay allows up to 30 days, and no extensions are allowed.
  3. Transit Visa: For passengers transiting through Malaysia. Valid only for the duration of the layover.
  4. Visa on Arrival (VOA): Available for Indian nationals under specific conditions, such as traveling from neighboring countries like Thailand, Singapore, or Indonesia.

Entry Requirements

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months.
  • Sufficient Funds: Proof of funds required for the duration of the stay.
  • eVisa Application: Can be applied online if needed.
  • MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card): Fill out online before arrival, up to 3 days in advance.

Additional Notes

  • MDAC Data Filling: Required for all foreign nationals, can be filled in advance via the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card portal.
